A master in the art of glassblowing for more than 265 years, RIEDEL has quickly distinguished itself throughout the world with the high quality of its products. Inspired by a passion for the winery passed down from generation to generation, the company has now become the largest glass factory in the world.

Claus J. Riedel, born from the ninth generation of the family business, was the first to recognise the effect of glass shapes on the taste of alcoholic beverages. It is thanks to this discovery that there are now glasses specific to Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir, for example.

At the moment, Maximilian J Riedel is at the head of the eleventh generation of the Austrian-based company. Famous for inventing a revolutionary "stemless" glass collection, Maximilian has received numerous accolades, including one from the Museum of Modern Art. In addition to his management responsibilities of the company, he remains the main designer of the RIEDEL brand carafes and glasses.

It was also under Maximilian's leadership that the RIEDEL RESTAURANT and RESTAURANT SOMMELIERS glass ranges were launched, offering hotels and restaurants products with increased durability in a very competitive price range on the market.  Today, RIEDEL remains a world-renowned premium brand.
